There’s no denying it – this summer has been a tough one. Working from home, cancelled holidays and lockdown away from loved ones hasn’t been fun at all, to say the least. We know how much family time means to everyone, and with that in mind, Edinburgh Bus Tours has put together a superb competition together with our friends at Edinburgh Zoo and the Hard Rock Café in time for the autumn public holiday (19 – 21 September)!
Two adults and up to three children will enjoy a morning touring the magnificent sights and sounds of the capital’s bustling city on one of Edinburgh Bus Tour’s stunning open-top buses. From the top of the Royal Mile where Edinburgh Castle sits overlooking the city below, to the grandeur of Holyrood Palace and everywhere in between, you’ll have an eagle-eyed view of the stunning architecture and landmarks of Scotland’s capital city.
Having worked up an appetite, head to the Hard Rock Cafe for a slap-up meal to the value of $75 while casting your eyes upon Ringo Starr’s leather jacket and a guitar formerly owned by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Hard Rock Cafe – which opened its first location in London back in 1971 – has also extended the Eat Out To Help Out offer; customers can enjoy 50% off/up to £10 per person, Mondays to Wednesdays, throughout September!
You’ll need all those calories to power through an exciting afternoon at Edinburgh Zoo, taking in the Tiger Trail, having a waddle past Penguin Rock and swinging by to say hello to Tian Tian and Yang Guang, the only giant pandas in the UK. We’ll even throw in free travel to the Zoo courtesy of Lothian!
Edinburgh Zoo has much to celebrate recently. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) features in an exclusive eight-part series for BBC Scotland called Inside the Zoo. Viewers will get to go behind the scenes with staff from the wildlife conservation charity at both Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park as they care for some of Scotland’s most loved animals, from new-born lion cubs and the UK’s youngest polar bear, to a particularly grumpy guineafowl.
To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is like the Facebook competition post and tag the friends or family members you’d take with you in the comments by no later than Thursday 17 September. The winner – chosen at random – will be announced on Edinburgh Bus Tours’ Facebook page and Twitter account, and the bus tour/zoo tickets, restaurant gift card and Family DAYticket will be valid up until 31 October 2020.
