The theatre, which opened in 1929, has a capacity of over 3,000 seats and a stunning interior. It plays host to some of the biggest names in live music, comedy and musical theatre. It is also used as a venue for both the Edinburgh International Festival and Edinburgh Festival Fringe each August.
Accessibility Information
The theatre is situated on Greenside Lane and is step-free from the street into the Circle Bar, which is located on the right-hand side of the foyer. Entering through this main entrance gives level access to Circle seating, which is easy access for those with limited mobility.
All sections of the theatre must otherwise be reached by steps, as there is no customer lift. The Edinburgh Playhouse is not accessible for those with mobility scooters
