Bobby’s Owner, Jock Gray, a night watchman with Edinburgh Police force, died in 1858. He was buried in Old Greyfriar’s Churchyard.
Despite dogs not being allowed in the graveyard, Bobby sat at his master’s grave and earned the affection of local residents, who looked out for him and fed him.

Accessibility Information

There is level access to the statue although the ground is uneven in places and it is situated near a busy road.
