This year’s theme, ‘Going Global’, highlights international research partnerships tackling shared challenges and Scotland’s role in the scientific community. Perfectly timed over the Easter holidays, the festival is ideal for families.

Step into one of the world’s top botanic gardens, home to a vast plant collection and pioneering biodiversity research. During the festival, explore their Herbology exhibition at 🔵 Stop 5 on our Regal Tour – celebrating 20 years of their contemporary herbology course and giving visitors a glimpse into nature’s pharmacy.
One of the jewels in Edinburgh’s crown, the National Museum of Scotland is a unique combination of world-class collections, programmes, places and people. Home to ‘Dolly the Sheep’ – the first mammal cloned from an adult somatic cell – the museum has hours of exploration and discovery in store for visitors.
Located at 🔴 Stop 5 on our CitySightseeing Edinburgh Tourand 🟢 Stop 9 on our Edinburgh Tour, the museum is hosting various exhibitions during the holidays, including Hands-on DNA: From Barley to Daffodils an exciting, interactive experience which uncovers the hidden diversity of barley and heritage daffodils.
The UK’s only science centre dedicated to Earth and environmental sciences, Dynamic Earth’s mission to empower everyone with understanding about the earth and the story of our planet from big bang to the present day.
As part of the Edinburgh Science Festival, Dynamic Earth has some ‘out of this world’ activities in store, including their special Astronaut Training which include rocket launches and adjusting to zero gravity.

One of the city’s most popular visitor attractions, Edinburgh Zoo is home to all your favourite animals from around the world, from charming penguins to majestic giraffes and Scotland’s only sloths and koalas.
Their Creature Connections display during the festival gives you the chance to see your favourite animals up close to observe their natural behaviours and instincts.
