Tour diversions around the Royal Mile (17 February)

Parts of the Royal Mile will be closed on Friday 17 February which will affect our Edinburgh Tour, Edinburgh CitySightseeing Tour and Majestic Tour buses.

There will be road closures and rolling road-blocks in parts of the city for the funeral of Barry Martin, the firefighter who sadly died last month following the fire at the former Jenners store on Princes Street. The funeral service will take place at St Giles’ Cathedral on the Royal Mile at around 1230 hrs.

Our tours will be diverted between 1000 and 1500 hrs (approximately) as follows:

Edinburgh CitySightseeing will operate its normal route to Lady Lawson Street, then divert via West Port, Grassmarket, Candlemaker Row, Teviot Place, George IV Bridge, Chambers Street, Nicolson Street, West Richmond Street, Pleasance, Holyrood Road, Our Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Road, St Marys Street, Jeffrey Street, Market Street, The Mound, Hanover Street and George Street to St Andrew Square.

Edinburgh Tour will operate its normal route to Bread Street, then divert via West Port, Grassmarket, Candlemaker Row, Teviot Place, Lauriston Place, Lady Lawson Street, Grassmarket, Cowgate, Holyrood Road, Our Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Road, Pleasance, West Richmond Street, Nicolson Street, Chambers Street, George IV Bridge, The Mound and Hanover Street returning to normal route on George Street.

Majestic Tour will be diverted between Easter Road and St Andrew Square, operating via Regent Road, Waterloo Place, Princes Street, Frederick Street and George Street.
